Park Hotel Vitznau

Park Hotel Vitznau | Fischer Architekten AG

Erected at the beginning of the 20th century, the Park Hotel Vitznau is among the best-known luxury hotels in Switzerland. By means of comprehensive renovation and conversion measures the charm of the historic building could be preserved, while at the same time providing comfort and facilities of the highest standard for hotel guests.

Picturesquely located on the shore of Lake Lucerne, the Park Hotel Vitznau is regarded as a symbol of the eponymous town. Erected in a neoclassical style, in the course of its one-hundred-year history this building underwent many changes and extensions. In the 1960s an annex was added to the main building, and in the 1980s an extension. From 2010 onwards the hotel building was thoroughly renovated for the first time and was reopened in 2013, even more glamorous than ever before.

The main building was completely gutted and rebuilt from the inside out, as in terms of structure, fire earthquake safety it no longer met present-day standards. All building services were renewed and expanded. Under the motto “Preserving the Past, Designing the Future” the old structure was carefully rebuilt and augmented by adding modern elements. High quality materials and surface finishes underline the aesthetic ambitions of this project.

All the construction measures were oriented on providing the amenities that are expected from a top-class luxury hotel. This resulted in the creation of forty-seven exclusive residences and suites, two gourmet restaurants, several wine cellars, a medical centre, and new luxurious spa and wellness area.
